What happens to the items we collect?
Our first process is to donate as many items as possible. We work with many charities including the British Heart Foundation, Oxfam and many more. Any items that cannot be donated to charity go through a full recycling process working towards achieving our mission to recycle 100% of collections.
What if you find something of value during the House Clearance?
We will always discuss the clearance process from start to finish with you in as much detail as possible. During this consultation stage, we will ask about any items you would like to retain and anything that is of particular value. All goods of importance that are specified are returned to you afterward and should our expert team come across anything of particular value or interest during the clearance process it will be set aside for your attention.
I have a lot of large, bulky items including beds, wardrobes and even shed. Can you take these too?
House Clearances come in all shapes and sizes. We're more than familiar with the dismantling and removal of these sorts of items. Please specify where possible during the consultation phase if you have any particularly large items of furniture (or sheds) that you wish to be removed during the clearance process. We also offer a sole dismantling service for items that require dismantling and transporting to new locations if you didn't want to dispose of them altogether. Talk to one of the team today about your needs.
What happens with computers and hard drives?
In some cases and more and more frequently, household items collected during a typical house clearance may include laptops and computers. In an ideal world, these would be accounted for prior to the house clearance and we can include the secure removal and disposal of these as part of our service.
We will ensure any data is erased from hard drives and provide a fully compliant certification after the fact. Read more about IT equipment collections and data destruction here or check out our sister company ITCycle here for more information.
